Can’t Sleep?

“The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them.”

(Psalm 145:18-19 ESV)

“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

(2 Chronicles 7:14 ESV)

I saw this on Facebook last night. “When you are having trouble falling asleep, God probably misses hearing from you and is giving you the opportunity to speak to Him. Late nights aren’t just for sad thoughts. Keep that in mind.”

God loves to hear from His kids just like you do. Talk to Him. Tell Him about your life. Oh, I know. He already knows all about what you do, say, and think. Tell Him anyway. It might make you feel better.

God doesn’t just want to hear from you when you have problems. He wants to hear the good things, too. Besides, where do the good things come from? Hmm. Think about that a minute. God sends us good things. He doesn’t send bad things to us. The devil does that.  The devil doesn’t want us having nice things or having a good time. He wants us sad, miserable, and discouraged all the time. Let’s not play into his hands. Keep smiling and talking to God.

And the next time you can’t sleep, talk to your Heavenly Father. He’s up anyway. Might as well talk to Him.

Have a great day.
