One Life to Live

by | Jan 30, 2024 | Forgiveness, Love

“And he said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.’”

(Matthew 22:37-40 ESV)

“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”

(Micah 6:8 ESV)

I was watching a movie yesterday afternoon. The comment was made “we all only have 1 life. It’s how you live that life that matters.” I got to thinking about that. I don’t believe in reincarnation. So I know this is the only life I have.

How have I lived my life? I admit, I’m in the latter part of life. I don’t know how much longer I have, but I know I don’t have that many years left. I have not always been the best person I could have been. But I also wasn’t the worst. I try to treat people how I want to be treated. That’s part of being the best person you can be. Treat others right, and hopefully, they will treat you the same way. Not always the case in my life, but I moved on and grew from it.

Jesus walked in love. We should, too. I know there are some people who just seem to know what buttons to push. But what if we disconnected those buttons? Or just stayed away from the negative influence? Not possible? Probably not. But we don’t have to let them get to us.  So my suggestion to you today is to live your life for Jesus. Show those negative people just how happy life can be.

Have a blessed day, everyone.
