God’s Creations

“So God created man in his own image in the image of God he created him; male and female, he created them.”

(Genesis 1:27 ESV)

“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”

(Psalm 139:14 ESV)

I saw a Peanuts cartoon today. Lucy, Charlie Brown, and Linus were talking. Lucy said, “Want to hear something funny? In paintings of Adam and Eve, they have belly buttons. Think about it. Take as long as you need.” I never thought about it before, but why would they have belly buttons? They were not born.  Adam was created from dust and Eve from Adam’s rib. There is no need for belly buttons.

There are other things I wonder about. What did Noah do with all the animal waste? Did he pollute the water by throwing it overboard? And what did he feed the carnivores? I know God can work miracles, but did He make the animals not need food for months? I read where somewhere that they were on the ark for 5 months. And If Noah did have meat for the animals, did he kill extra animals? Did he bring meat on board before the rain? Wouldn’t it have spoiled before the rain stopped?

And what about Joseph? His own brothers sold him into slavery. How do you think that made him feel? I don’t think I would have had the forgiveness towards them that he did. Joseph was a lot more gracious to his brothers than I think I would have been. He went through a lot in Egypt.

Let’s talk about some of God’s creations. In the why column … roaches. Why? What purpose do they serve except to lay eggs that hatch millions more. I do like the hummingbirds, though. They are pretty amazing. I had artificial flowers out, and one flew up and looked in my window as if to say, “why?” Snakes, mice, rats, squirrels can all go. I see no purpose for any of them. But I know there probably is a reason. But God can really paint beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

Have a great day.
