Don’t Open Your Mouth When

by | Sep 22, 2023 | Choices, Listening, Words

1. In the heat of anger (See Proverbs 14:17).

2. When you don’t have all the facts (See Proverbs 18:13).

3. When you haven’t verified the story (See Deuteronomy 17:6).

4. If your words will offend someone (See 1 Corinthians 8:11).

5. When it’s time to listen (See Proverbs 13:1).

6. When you are tempted to joke about sin (See Proverbs 14:9).

7. When you are tempted to make light of holy things (See Ecclesiastes 5:2).

8. If you would be ashamed of your words later (See Proverbs 8:8).

9. If your words would convey the wrong impression (See Proverbs 17:27).

10. If the issue is none of your business (See Proverbs 14:10).

All are good advice, but read the last one again. If it’s none of your business, stay out of it.

I have a neighbor who thinks I have to tell her everything and everywhere I go. Most of the time, it’s personal and none of her business, so I try to act like I didn’t hear her. But God knows, and that is all that matters. All I need to do is please God.

I hope you all enjoyed this today. I hope none of them applied to you. But if they did, lesson learned and move on. Repent if needed and try not to do it again.

Have a blessed day, everyone.
