Death is Not the End

by | Aug 12, 2023 | Death, Eternity, Salvation

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

(Revelation 21:4 ESV)

“For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.”

(Romans 14:8 ESV)

“And the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.”

(Ecclesiastes 12:7 ESV)

I watched a television show yesterday afternoon. I have seen this show many times but do not remember this line: “Death is not the end of anything. It’s just another step.”

What a way to think about death. Sure, you’re dead. But it’s not the end. If you are saved, you will go to heaven. If not saved, you will go to hell.

I like the fact that this life is not the end for me. I will be reunited with loved ones who have gone on before me. I will be spending eternity in heaven. I will finally be healed and whole. No more heart issues, no more mobility issues. No pain, trouble, and noisy neighbors.

But on the other hand. If you are not saved, hell is your eternity. Constant pain and torment in the fires of hell. Nope. Not for me.

“Dear God, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.”

Today is a good day to give your life to God.

Have a blessed day, everyone.
