“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”
(John 10:11 ESV)
“He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom and gently lead those that are with young.”
(Isaiah 40:11 ESV)
I was sent the following yesterday. I got to thinking about it:
“When sheep fall down on their backs, they can’t get up. This is called a cast sheep. They need a shepherd to help them get back on their feet.
In scripture, Jesus tells us that He is the Good Shepherd. He knows His sheep and His sheep know Him.
Do you think when Jesus called Himself the Good Shepherd, He knew there would be times in our lives that we would fall down and couldn’t get back up without Him? He knows His sheep.
I’m so thankful that the Good Shepherd picks me up and sets my feet upon a firm foundation!!”
I can’t count the number of times I have fallen, and Jesus helped me back up. Jesus is always there when I fall. Jesus will always pick you up no matter how many times you fall. He is always there with a helping hand. He is always there for you whether you want Him or not. No matter what you do, Jesus will forgive you when you repent. It’s really that simple. Just ask for His forgiveness, and He will forgive you.
Jesus laid His life down for us. He died on the cross for you and me: “I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me.” (John 10:14 ESV)
I am so glad that Jesus loves me. I am also glad that I know His voice.
Have a blessed day, everyone.
