“But he said to me, , for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
(2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV)
“You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe and shudder!”
(James 2:19 ESV)
Yesterday was a lesson in patience for me. I stopped after church and treated myself to lunch. Not something I do often. On my way home, I hit every light either yellow or red. On one road that should have only taken 5 or so minutes, took 25. I got behind a tractor. ‘Tis the season for tractors. Now I am not bashing tractors or farmers. We need them if we want to eat. Plus most are really nice people. But it also seemed like every slow poke driver was out and in front of me. It would be ok if they would at least drive the speed limit. What is normally a 30 minute drive turned into almost an hour.
There were a lot of obstacles in my way yesterday. But I made it home in 1 piece. As I sat and watched storm clouds roll in, I thought about obstacles. I have had obstacles put in my path that have saved me a lot of pain. I once spent about 15 minutes looking for my keys, only to find them exactly where they were supposed to. Why didn’t I see them? I believe God blinded me to them because He knew I would be in a certain spot at the right time to be involved in a bad car wreck. It was a fatal wreck. It wasn’t my time and that was God’s way of keeping me safe.
But the devil also throws obstacles in our paths. He puts them there to discourage us and try to get our focus off God. It works sometimes. You have to know the tricks of the devil. You have to be able to see what he is doing to derail your walk with God.
If you have an obstacle in your path, tear it down. Don’t let the devil win. Stand your ground.
Have a great day.
