“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, and be constant in prayer.”
(Romans 12:12 ESV)
“But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.”
(Romans 8:25 ESV)
Have you ever had that one person who just seems to get under your skin and grate on your last nerve? Over the course of my almost 68 years on this earth, I have had many. Mostly coworkers. You know the kind, they get close to you only to bug the daylights out of you. It’s those kinds of people that would try the patience of anyone. I have often wondered if they are like that to everyone or just me.
Nowadays, I tend to be more patient. I bite my tongue a lot. Kinda hurts after a while. But then I stop to think, what would Jesus do? How would He handle them? I know the answer to that. He would love them.
That sounds easy, right? Well, not always. Some people are not all that loveable.
Case in point. A guy I know. He thinks the world owes him because he had a wreck and got badly hurt. He is hard to love. But on the other hand, my granddaughter was badly hury in a wreck, not her fault. She worked hard and overcame her injuries. He didn’t. She is back to working. He isn’t. Who do think Jesus loves more? The guy or my granddaughter? Trick question. He loves them both, but I think He is more proud of my granddaughter because she was patient and worked hard to overcome her injuries.
In the patience department, no one is more patient than Jesus. We can all take a lesson from the most patient person of all.
Have a great day, everyone and don’t let anyone try your patience.
