“Again, Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.’”(John 8:12 ESV)
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill can not be hidden.”(Matthew 5:14 ESV)
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.(John 1:5 ESV)
There’s a song called, “Light of The World”:
“Light of the world(Light of the World by Tim Hughes)
You stepped down into darkness.
Opened my eyes, let me see.
Beauty that made this heart adore You.
Hope of a life spent with You.”
Can you imagine living in paradise, then coming to earth just to be ridiculed and then crucified? Jesus did not die a peaceful death. He spent about 33 years on earth before being nailed to the cross to die. But it had to happen. I can imagine the conversation between God and Jesus:
God: Son, I am going to send you to earth. You will be born of a virgin and live a simple life. Then, when You are 33 years old, You will be nailed to a cross and die.
Jesus: Aw, Dad. Do I have to? It’s so nice here and so lousy down there. Why do I have to go?
God: Because I said so and I am Your Father!
No, it probably didn’t go like that. But I would not want to leave heaven to come to this world.
But Jesus did. He was born to Mary and grew up. Can you imagine losing Jesus? They were on their way home and thought he was with His cousins. Mary and Joseph were given one job, raise Jesus. And they lost Him. Can you imagine losing God’s kid?
But they found Him. And Jesus taught about God. He served God always.
That is our main job here, to serve God and spread the gospel. Are you doing your part? It’s not hard. Just start talking about how good God is. If the person is interested, they will stay to listen. If not, they will boot scoot out of there. So don’t be afraid to share the gospel. Share it everywhere you go.
Have a great day, everyone.
