“Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:11-13 ESV)
“But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.” (1 Timothy 6:6-8 ESV)
A friend has a plaque on their door that says welcome-ish. I have seen it a lot but never really paid attention to it until yesterday.
God told me that while you may be welcome-ish at their home, you are always welcome at His home. There is never an “ish” in heaven.
Do you feel welcome? If you go to heaven will you be welcome? Yes! You will be welcomed with open arms. That’s more than some places here. There are places that make it seem like you are not really wanted there. I tend to steer clear of places like that. God will never make you feel unwelcomed or unwanted.
We need to learn to be content with what we have. We need to stop looking at other people’s lives and wanting what they have. Look around, see what you have. Is there room for improvement? Sure. But don’t stress yourself out by wanting the latest and greatest whatever. It’s just not worth it. So I encourage you today to decide to be happy with what you have and not unhappy because you don’t have everything. God wants us happy. He loves us and wants us content in the knowledge of Him.
Have a blessed day everyone.
