“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’”
(John 8:12 ESV)
“I am the Lord; I have called you in righteousness; I will take you by the hand and keep you; I will give you as a covenant for the people, a light for the nations.”
(Isaiah 42:6 ESV)
On this Easter day, I think back to the time Jesus died on the cross. No, even though I am getting older, I wasn’t actually there. But Jesus died so we may live. He wants us to spread the word about Him. He wants all people to know about Him.
Jesus wants us to be a light for the lost. He wants us to show the lost the way to salvation. Are you doing everything you can to tell the lost about our Savior? Do you believe Jesus died for our sins?
I have been on this earth a little over 6 decades. I have seen a lot of things come and go. Some good things have come, like microwaves and air conditioning. There are some bad things too, like guys wearing their pants so low. For goodness sake guys, pull them up. No one wants to see your underwear. But Jesus wants us to share our knowledge with the lost. If you just look around, you can find someone to share Jesus with.
People say there aren’t good people anymore. I beg to differ. I went to Walmart yesterday morning and as I was loading my car, a young man stopped and asked if I needed help. As he was putting my bags in the car, we chatted. As he was leaving, I said, “God bless you.” He turned and smiled at me. Who knows if that set the tone for his day or not. But just a kind word goes a long way.
I noticed that I am speaking to others as I pass by them. They respond back most of the time. But just a kind gesture can go a long way. Just letting my light and love of God show can make a difference in someone’s life. It makes a difference in mine.
Have a blessed day and happy Easter.
