“Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed.” (Romans 13:11 ESV)
“But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” (Mark 13:32 ESV)
Has anyone else noticed that as you get older, time seems to go by faster? I have noticed this for a while now. It seems like the years are flying by. It doesn’t matter how old you are, you are only guaranteed a set number of days. Only God knows how long you will live. We may complain and grumble when a loved one dies sooner than we wanted them to, but God was ready for them.
So while we remain behind, we still have time. Use this time to serve God. Use it to improve your walk with Him. While you go through the grief of losing your loved one, lean on Him and let Him help you through. He is already here waiting for you to acknowledge Him. Let God carry you through the grieving process and help ease it. Let God love on you.
I had a friend many years ago. She and her husband had gone to visit relatives. They left the younger kids with the older ones. The kids decided to go swimming in a strip pit. Something they had done many times before. One of the younger kids waited for an older one to come back for him. He couldn’t swim and was in an inner tube. When the older ones went back for him, he was gone. He had slipped under the water and drowned.
The kids tried to get hold of their parents but they were already on their way home. This was way before cell phones. Once home, mom was comforting the kids. They all blamed themselves. She told the kids it was his time to go and it wouldn’t have mattered where he was, he would have died.
What an attitude to have. So if you are going through a tragedy, let God hold you.
Have a blessed day everyone.
