Where Would We Be?

by | Mar 14, 2023 | Fear, Forgiveness, God's Love

“But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.” (Psalm 86:15 ESV)

“The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” (Psalm 118:6 ESV)

God loves you and me. But if He didn’t, where would we be? If God didn’t love us enough to forgive us our sins, what would we do?

But God does love us. He loves us more than anyone ever could. His love if perfect.

Is yours? Do you love unconditionally? Do you quickly forgive? Not so sure I qualify for either question. There are just too many variables in loving unconditionally. What if the person does something over and over to push your buttons. Could you love that person no matter what? What about forgiveness?

That can be a sore spot for me sometimes. Years ago there was this lady in town that didn’t like me very much. She started spreading lies about me. I avoided her as much as I could. One day her oldest son killed himself. I was torn about sending her a card. But I did. From then on, every time I ran into her she was like an old friend. While I did not bring up the lies she spread, I did forgive her in my heart, eventually.

What if God spread lies about you? Could you forgive Him? Would you forgive Him? That’s what a lot of people do to Him. But yet, He forgives them.

So I ask the question again, where we would be if God didn’t forgive us or love us? Think about it.

Have a fabulous day everyone.
