Expectation

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11 ESV)

“And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them.” (Acts 3:5 ESV)

I was talking to a friend last night. We were talking about the neuropathy in my legs. I told her I am expecting God to heal them.

How often do you pray about something and just hope God fixes it? Doesn’t say much about knowing it will happen. We need to raise our expectations to the point we know God will take care of it. We need to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God has it under control.

Google defines expectations as, “A strong belief that something will happen or be the case in the future.” So if our expectations are strong enough, God will move on our behalf.

Not sure if that is enough. Our faith and trust need to be strong too. But don’t they all kind of go hand in hand? Say you are expecting a package. Don’t you trust that it will come? Don’t you have faith that the mail service will get it to you, eventually? With God, your issues and problems are in good hands. So expect God to fix them. Expect God to take care of you.

Expectations are an experiment in trust and faith on our part. So put your faith and trust to work and expect God to move on your behalf. Because He will.

Have a great day everyone.
