Filling Stations

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23 ESV)

“But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.” (Acts 7:55 ESV)

I was driving to church yesterday, anticipating the move of God. I was thinking I was running low and needed filled up again. Remember years ago gas stations were called filling stations? Well that’s what churches are. We go to church on Sunday to get filled up. Then maybe even a night service sometime during the week to get topped off. But the problems come, adversities and the cares of the world pile on, draining our tanks. So by Sunday we are ready to be filled again.

I love the peaceful, no cares in the world feeling I have after a good service. And I am more than ready to go back to be filled again. I looked out yesterday morning and saw snow and what looked like ice on the walk. The devil immediately told me, “Stay home. You don’t want to fall on the ice.” I got up and got dressed. When I went out, it was just wet with a little snow. See? The devil tries to steal from us.

I suggest that you get up, get dressed and go to your filling station and get filled or at least topped off. Go to church, get filled with the Holy Spirit and carry that peaceful feeling with you everywhere you go. Let it guide you.

I have not regretted being filled with it one minute. Yes, I still have problems but the Holy Spirit guides me and helps me keep that peaceful feeling.

Have a blessed day everyone.

Have a great day.
