“On God rests my salvation and glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God.” (Psalm 62:7 ESV)
“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24 ESV)
I have heard that God is our rock. Now rock in my mind is something hard. But God isn’t hard, so how can He be a rock?
The definition of rock is: “a large mass of stone forming a cliff, promontory or peak.” But it also has other meanings. Rock could be a diamond or other jewel or someone who is strong, someone you can lean on in times of trouble.
I got this from a friend yesterday.
Rock:
R: Rescues us in time of trouble.
O: Offers support.
C: Capable of doing anything.
K: Keeps loving us no matter what.
That describes God. He does all those things and so much more.

All other ground is sinking sand.
All other ground is sinking sand.”
Where will you build your house today? On sand where it will collapse when the winds of adversity comes along? Or on the solid rock that is Jesus? Will you build on the solid rock where you are able to withstand the winds that blow in to destroy you? I choose the Rock of Ages. I choose Jesus. You can’t go wrong if you build on the Rock.
Have a blessed day.
