“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” (John 13:34 ESV)

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10 ESV)

Hi! My names Kathy and I’m an adrenaline junkie. Ok, that statement is  no longer true but it was for about 10 years.

There are all kinds of addictions and all kinds of programs to help people with addictions. The one thing I don’t like about addiction is once an addict, always an addict. You can always go back into the addictions at any time.

But the kind of addiction I will never give up is Jesus. I will forever be addicted to Jesus. I will do everything I can to follow Him. I will follow where He leads me because I love Him.

Jesus loves us all equally. He will do everything in His power to bring us into the fold. Do you know where addictions come from? Some say peer pressure, family issues, trauma of some sort or just weak. Addictions come from the devil. You open the door and the devil slides in. He whispers in your ear how good that drink would be or you’ll feel so good after taking that drug. Don’t listen to the lies. The devil wants to steal, kill and destroy. Don’t let him. He wants to destroy you anyway he can. He is out to destroy families. He puts temptations in front of your kids in the form of peer pressure.

Teach your children from early on to not listen to the devil. Teach them the love that Jesus has for them. Demonstrate that love in front of them. Don’t always be bickering and fighting. Show them love instead of anger and violence. Teach your children right from wrong. Show them addiction is ok if it’s an addiction to the love of Jesus.

Have a blessed day everyone.
