God Has a Sense of Humor

by | Dec 11, 2022 | Cheerfulness, laughter

“He will yet fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with shouting.” (Job 8:21 ESV)

“A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.” (Ecclesiastes 3:4 ESV)

I have heard it said that if you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans. Well, I made God laugh yesterday. It was kind of a busy day yesterday, and I thought I would send a rerun devotional out today. What I do when I send out reruns is go back on my church Facebook page. I scroll through until I find a good one.

I did that yesterday. I couldn’t scroll past November 20th.I could hear God laughing. Then He said, “No repeats allowed. Feed my children fresh food.” So I decided to tattle on God. He laughs. He loves to laugh and He loves to hear us laugh.

Have you had a good laugh lately? It really is good medicine. It’s in the Bible too: “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.” (Proverbs 17:20 NLT)

So the next time life has you down, the bills are piling up or your kids or spouse is doing stupid, laugh. And remember that God loves that sound.

Have a great day everyone.
