Start Your Day Right

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.” (John 10:27-28 ESV)

“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17 ESV)

“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” (Jeremiah 33:3 ESV)

How do you start your day? Do you just jump right in or spend some time with God? I usually start my day by saying good morning to God. Not a bad start if you ask me. God loves to hear from His kids. I love to hear from God.

God is always talking to us. But do you listen? It’s always good advice to listen when the Father talks. It’s pretty much always important. Sometimes He gives instruction, sometimes correction.

Then sometimes He will sing to you. God has a beautiful voice. I love to hear from Him, even if it’s correcting me or telling me He wasn’t happy with something I’ve done. I tried to play the, “but I’m only human” card. It doesn’t work with God. His response to me was, “but you know better.” So I retired that card after a couple of tries. I thought He may actually buy it the second time around. Nope, not then either.

But one thing about God is that He loves us no matter how many times we mess up. No matter how much trouble we get ourselves into, He still loves us. That’s one reason I start my day with a good morning, Lord. How are you doing? And end my day with, “Good night Lord. Have a good night.”

I don’t know exactly how God feels about it, but I know how I feel every morning when one of my daughters and one of my granddaughters text me every morning with, “good morning, mom” and “good morning, grandma.” My granddaughter says, “I love you.”

So I hope I put a smile on God’s face like these two do mine every day. I smile every morning when I see their texts. So try it sometime.

Have a great day everyone.
