Memories

“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.”

(Philippians 1:3-5 ESV)

“But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart.”

(Luke 2:19 ESV)

I was looking for something yesterday and the word memories jumped out at me. That got me to thinking about my past.  Oh not bad memories but pleasant ones. I got to thinking about growing up. We kids didn’t know we were poor. Somehow mom could stretch a  penny until Lincoln begged for mercy.

We always got what we asked for at Christmas and birthdays. But back then, kids didn’t go overboard. They didn’t expect the latest greatest toys. My brothers and I were talking after mom’s funeral about her. We couldn’t figure out how she did it. But she did. We always had decent clothes, more than enough food to eat and we each had a bike. That was our mode of transportation.

But the best thing my parents did for us, was take us to church. We grew up in church. I learned about the love God has for each of us and that he will forgive us when we do stupid if we just ask.

Do you have sins that need forgiven? Today is a good day to ask forgiveness. It really is easy.

“Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name. Amen.”

Done and done! Now wasn’t that easy? You just said the sinner’s prayer. I hope you read it and mean it.  Jesus is coming soon. No one knows the day or time. We need to be ready. It’s time we spread the gospel to the far reaches of the world. So let’s all do our part. Spread the word, Jesus is coming soon.

Have a blessed day.
