Money and Time

“Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.”

(James 4:14 ESV)

“The years of our life are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty; yet their span is but toil and trouble; they are soon gone, and we fly away.”

(Psalm 90:10 ESV)

I was killing time yesterday on Facebook when I saw this:

“The biggest difference between money and time…You always know how much money you have, but you never know how much time you have.”

We have no idea how long God is going to let us live. Doctors “suggest” how long a person may live if they have a life threatening disease. But only God knows for sure. What if you knew today was your last day on this earth? What would you do? Would you do things on your “bucket list”? Or would you spend the day with your family and friends? Or maybe in prayer?

I would probably spend some of it with family and friends. But I would also probably spend time in prayer. My question to you. Are you ready? If God calls you home today, are you ready? You should be. We have no guarantee on how long we have. It’s time to make a decision. Heaven or hell? Today is a good day to be saved. Say the following prayer and mean it:

“Dear God, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.”

I hope you just said this prayer and meant it. I hope you just asked Jesus to come into your life. Time really is getting short. Don’t wait until later. There may not be a later.

Have a great day everyone.
