Listening for God’s Voice

by | Sep 9, 2022 | God Speaks, Relationship

“Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.”

(John 8:47 ESVL)

“And he said to them, ‘Pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you.'”

(Mark 4:24 ESV)

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.”

(John 10:27-28 ESV)

Do you know the sound of God’s voice? Do you listen to Him when He speaks?  I think it’s a pretty good idea to listen to Him when He talks to you. He has some pretty good ideas and thoughts.

I was asked once how do I know God is talking to me? My reply was by that small still voice that tells me “that is a stupid idea. Don’t do that.” But really, I do pay attention to that small still voice. It will always guide me in the right direction.

Some people call it a gut feeling. Listen to your gut feelings. They are usually right, in my case, they have always been right. There have been times when I didn’t pay attention to my gut feeling and got myself into trouble. I soon learned to pay attention to my gut feelings. God is always talking to us. It’s up to us if we decide to pay attention to Him or not. It’s better to pay attention than not to.

It took me a little while to learn God’s voice. There was one time I was waiting for a kid I babysat to get out of school. There was a row of 5 different colored blue cars went by.  I heard an audible voice tell me to pick a color. I looked around and there was no one around my car.

God talks, we need to listen. What He says is very important. It may not manifest right away but it will. So work hard on listening for God’s voice. He has some wonderful things to say.

Have a great day everyone.
