“For the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God” (James 1:20 ESV)
“Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil.” (Ephesians 4:26-27 ESV)
I was on my way to pay bills and get a few groceries yesterday when the gauges went nuts again in my car. I wasted no time telling the devil off. You might say I put him in his place. I yelled at him. It probably looked strange to people going by but I don’t care. God promised to keep this car running until my new one comes and I am holding Him to His promise.
You see, God will never break His promise to you. If He has made you a promise, then you can be sure He will keep it. It just isn’t in our timing. God’s timing is different from ours. But He is never late. Just when you think He isn’t going to do it, He does.
But the devil will pull out all the stops to block every blessing. He tries to discourage us any way he can. When he messed with my gauges, I fooled him. I yelled at him then prayed in tongues. Then God sent a good dose of Holy Ghost laughter. I felt so free and light after that.
The devil knows what buttons to push to get to us. But we can one up him. Laugh at him. If he messes with your car, home, job, laugh at him. Tell him NO! Not happening. If he tries to steal your kids, laugh at him. He has no right to your kids, home, finances or whatever.
But he loves to see us upset. If we are upset then he wins. He has taken our focus off God, where it should be and put it on our problems. But God wants our attention. All of it. He doesn’t like sharing our attention with the devil. So whatever is going on in your life to take your focus off God, get mad and command it to go in Jesus name. Then laugh. Laughter is good for you. I felt so much better afterwards. So let it rip. Get mad at the devil then laugh at him.
Have a great day.
