Hope and Faith

by | Jun 17, 2022 | Faith, Hope

“For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.”

(Romans 8:24-25 ESV)

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

(Jeremiah 29:11 ESV)

Inspiration for this came from, of all places, Facebook:

“When you think there is no hope, God says,
‘Take my hand and let me lead the way. We can do this together.”

How many times have I completely lost all hope and faith and fell apart? More times than I can count. But that is how it seems to go. Something happens to distract us and then we are in the weeds with all hope and faith gone.

But that’s not how we are supposed to live. We are supposed to live according to God’s plan for us. God had a plan for each of us long before we were born. It’s up to us to figure out if we are going to fulfill that plan. If you are having trouble figuring out what God’s plan for you is, start praying. Ask God. He will show you. He will even help you. He will take your hand and lead you every step of the way until you are confident and are able to work it on your own.

Ok, not totally on your own. God is still there helping and guiding you. But as you grow and mature into what God wants you to be, you will be able to discern what is expected of you. That’s when God will increase you. He will expand you.

My ministry used to be kids. I babysat and helped raise kids while parents worked. But that ministry has been fulfilled and I am onto my next one. And you are reading it right now. As of today I have been doing this daily for 805 days. I text 72 people daily and email 3. They are posted on the church Facebook page and two separate sites of a prayer group I belong to.  God is amazing. So build up your hope and faith. God has amazing things for us.

Have a great day.
