Battle Scars

“From now on let no one cause trouble for me, for I bear on my body the brand-marks of Jesus.”

(Galatians 6:17 NIV)

“Faithful are the wounds of a friend,
But deceitful are the kisses of an enemy.”

(Proverbs 27:6 NIV)

Have you ever had any trauma in your life? I think everyone has at one time or another. Each trauma in our lives leave a scar. Sometimes they can leave an open wound that will fester if not taken care of. I’m not talking about a physical wound but a mental one. For example, someone abused you. If you don’t forgive the person that can leave an open wound. Until you take care of the problem, the wound remains.

I know I have had my share of battle scars. In my past, I felt I was never good enough. I tried to be liked by everyone to compensate for the negative feelings. That left a huge scar.

But now, I don’t really care if someone doesn’t like me as long as Jesus does. He is the only person I try to please now. But battle scars are painful, even though they don’t leave a physical mark, they leave a mental one.  Sometimes they can take forever to heal. But until we are ready to deal with the cause, they won’t heal.

So if you have unhealed battle scars, deal with the cause. Ask Jesus to heal them. So give these to Jesus today. Let the Great Physician heal these scars.

Have a blessed day.
