Reflections

“And they said, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.’”

(Acts 16:31 ESV)

“Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

(Romans 10:9 ESV)

When you look in the mirror, do like the person looking back?

I didn’t use to. I am shy until I get to know you, I have a lot of faults. But I have finally learned to love the person looking back at me.

Why am I saying these things? I have a well woman check up this morning. Because of the plague making the rounds, it has been postponed several times. I was looking for my living will and while copying it, I read a letter again that Mom wrote to us kids in 1978. She had a premonition, her word, that she was going to die. She didn’t, but years later she had a massive heart attack and did almost die. So she wrote a letter to us. We didn’t find it until we were cleaning out her things after having to put her in a nursing home. She left instructions for us to love each other and take care of each other.

None of us at the time was walking with God. She told us that time is short and to please get ourselves right with God and get saved. She wanted us all together in heaven. Mom got her wish, we are all saved. We will be reunited again.

Mom wrote that 44 years ago. She knew time was short then. It’s even shorter now. Are you saved? Are you ready to go if Jesus came today? “Dear God, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.”

Did you say it? Did you mean it? I hope so. Time really is short. Get yourself right with God now. It only takes a minute. Have a good day.
