Actions and Reactions

“‘I, the Lord, have spoken; it is coming and I will act. I will not relent, and I will not pity and I will not be sorry; according to your ways and according to your deeds I will judge you,’ declares the Lord God.”

(Ezekiel 24:14 NKJ)

“For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.”

(Ecclesiastes 12:14 NKJ)

If someone comes up to you and starts yelling at you, what do you do? Do you yell back or curl up in a ball and hope they go away?

I used to cry. I didn’t want to but that was my reaction. I still don’t like conflict. At this point in my life though, I now react. I will try to defuse the situation and see why they are yelling at me. And then try to fix it.

All throughout the Bible you see actions and reactions. Look at Moses. His mother hid him in a basket in the river because Pharoah was killing the newborn Hebrew baby boys. That was an action. The reaction was Pharaoh’s daughter found him and raised him herself.

David and Goliath. Action: David used his slingshot against a giant. The reaction: Goliath died.

Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers. He saved his family and a multitude of others during a famine.

You never know what someone is going through. They may smile on the outside but be falling apart on the inside. Your reaction to them may send them over the edge or be the very life line they need at that moment.

So don’t ever judge a book by the cover. Dig into it, turn the pages and see what’s going on. Then see how you can help.

Have a great and God bless you all.
