“Jesus said to him, ‘Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.’” (John 20:29 ESV)
“May the Lord our God be with us, as He was with our fathers; may He not leave us or forsake us.” (1 Kings 8:57 ESV)
I read an article on Facebook yesterday morning about a troubled child. He would go from a loving, happy child to throwing school desk chairs at people within a second. The article was written by his preschool teacher. This child had a team of people trying to help him. Nothing worked. No plans, no amount of love and understanding worked. Until one day it clicked. They weren’t leaving him. The article stated he is in high school now and wants to be a minister.
The reason for her story about this little boy was to not give up on someone because they try to push you away. How many times have we done just that? How many times do we just walk away because that person pushed us away?
Now think about this: Where would we be right now if Jesus walked away from us because we pushed him away? No. He didn’t walk away from us even when we did push him away. And I am so glad He stayed when I pushed Him away. Jesus won’t do that. He won’t leave us or forsake us. He loves us so much, He died on the cross for us.
So if you have someone pushing you away, don’t give up on them. Keep praying for them. Keep encouraging them.
Maybe one day it will click with them that Jesus isn’t going to leave them either.
Have a great day.
