“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.” (Psalm 9:9-10 NKJ)

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16 ESV)

I was watching TV yesterday. The show Silver Spoons came on. I wasn’t really paying attention but God said, “Listen to the theme song.” The part He wanted me to hear was this: “Together, we’re going to find our way. Together, taking the time each day. To learn all about those things you just can’t buy.”

That is what God told me. We are in this together. Together we can do all things. How many times have I tried to do things on my own and failed miserably? More times than I care to remember. But what if all those times I had instead asked God for help? I think it would have been a lot easier and the results would have been a lot better. That’s all God is asking. He wants us to depend on Him instead of trying to figure it out ourselves.

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 ESV)

It doesn’t matter what we are going through, God will bring us through it if we will let Him. But the catch is, we have to ask for His help.

Don’t let pride get in the way. Go ahead and ask Him for his help. March right into the throne room and ask God to help you. So what if it was your fault. God doesn’t care. All He needs to work on your behalf if your permission. So go ahead. Tell Him what you need. He will help you. He loves you and wants you to succeed and be happy.
