Walk Through the Flames

by | Nov 19, 2021 | Presence, Trials

“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.'” (Mark 10:27 NKJV)

“God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.'” (Hebrews 13:5 NKJV)

As I look back on the last couple years, I have seen where Jesus has walked with me and protected me. Not that He always hasn’t. But I see it more now. He stayed beside me and kept me from becoming a pile of ashes from the fires that roared around me.

On my way to a birthday lunch yesterday the song, “Fires” sung by Jordyn St. Cyr came on the radio. While listening to it, God started talking to me. He told me, even though I have heard this song many times, I haven’t really listened to it. So I did. Here is what really got me:

“You’ve walked me through fires.
Pulled me from flames.
If You’re in this with me,
I won’t be afraid.
When the smoke billows higher, oh and higher,
And it feels like I can barely breathe.
I’ll walk through these fires.
‘Cause You’re walking with me.”

Fires by Jordyn St. Cyr

God sent Jesus to walk with me. He said He always will. He won’t leave me to figure it out on my own. That’s a good thing to know. But even better, if He does it for me, He will do it for you too.

God will never forsake us, and He won’t desert us. He will walk through the fires with us. He will hold us up when we feel like we are just barely keeping our heads above water.

So next time the flames are licking at your heals, remember, you can walk through these fires because Jesus is walking with you.

Have a blessed day everyone.
