God’s Favourite Child

“Masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Don’t threaten them. Remember you both have the same master in heaven and he has no favorites.” (Ephesians 6:9 ESV)

“For God shows no partiality.” (Romans 2:11 ESV)

I have always claimed I am God’s favorite. I was reading my Bible the other day and found Ephesians 6:9. See above scripture. Go ahead, I will wait while you read it again. Done? Ok.

I don’t remember seeing this verse before. It really popped my little bubble. So I started looking. This must have been a big problem back when the Bible was written. There’s a lot of scriptures on it. While I know I am God’s favorite, I also know you are too. I am willing to share God’s affection with you. He loves us all equally. It doesn’t matter what we have done in the past. God doesn’t care once you repent. Once you repent of your sins, God wipes them away. He forgets them forever.

Can you say that about someone who does you wrong? Could you really forget it just because they say sorry? I didn’t think so. I can’t either. I can forgive but I can’t seem to forget. But God can and He does. And He does it without playing favorites.

Ok parents, I have a couple of questions. If you have more than 1 child, do you play favorites? Do the other kids know?

My Mom did not play favorites but my Dad did. I knew who my Dad favored and I wasn’t one of them. It really hurt my feelings, being the only girl. But I got over it, eventually. But my Heavenly Father loves me unconditionally and always will. And that my dear friends, is why I, along with you, are God’s favorites.

Have a blessed day everyone.
