Being Thankful

by | Nov 19, 2021 | Gratitude, Thankfulness, Thanksgiving

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God.” (Thessalonians 5:8 ESV)

“Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. ” (Ephesians 5:20 ESV)

American Thanksgiving is just around the corner. It’s a time to be thankful. What do you have to be thankful for?

I got a text yesterday from a friend that said she was thankful for me in her life. That got me to thinking. (Yes, I know, that could be dangerous.)

What am I thankful for? I am thankful that I am still alive. I am thankful I have a roof over my head, a warm, or cool, depending on the season, place to live. I have food in the pantry and clothes to wear. I have brothers who look out for me, good friends and a wonderful, caring church family. I have 2 adopted daughters who love me and take care of me. And a home care worker who makes sure I have a clean, safe home and is like family to me.

What more could I ask for? God has blessed me abundantly.

God is front and center in my life. I am so thankful I finally came back to Him and let Him take control of my life.

Is God in your life? Are you thankful God is watching over you? If so, thank Him. Thank Him that He loves you enough to go looking for you. No matter where you are, how much you try to hide, He will find you. God doesn’t care about your past. He cares about your future. Where will you spend eternity? Think about it. Think about what you have to be thankful for. Let the troubles go and be thankful.

Have a great day.
