“And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.” (Luke 6:31 ESV)
“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:32 ESV)
Robin Williams said, “Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always.”
My Mom, Dolly, said, “You don’t know what someone else is going through. Maybe by snapping at you, they released part of their anger and frustration. Don’t take it personally.”
Both words to live by. Both the same message by two vastly different people. Sometimes it’s hard to be kind to someone. But we should always try.
God wants us to treat each other with love and kindness. But the sad thing is, we don’t always do it. We go around yelling and screaming at people. You hear people yelling obscenities at others just because they are different.
What a boring place this would be if we were all the same. No diversity, just cookie cutter people living our cookie cutter lives, exactly the same.
We need to learn to get along. But the thing is, time is getting short. Jesus is coming back soon and before he does, things are going to get a lot worse than they are now. But while we are here, we can show others kindness and love. It’s free. Doesn’t cost anything to be kind to someone.
I’m not saying to take strangers into your home to live. I’m saying a kind word goes a long way. So live your life in such a way that God points you out and says, “That’s my kid! Look what he or she just did! Wasn’t that a nice thing to do?” Have a great day everyone. Give away some smiles. When you do, God smiles on you.
