“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” (John 13:34 ESV)
“Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought to love one another.” (1 John 4:11 ESV)
While listening to music last night I heard Love is The Golden Rule sung by Mark Lowry:
“We must find a way to love one another and stop the hate that breaks us in two.
We must learn to live together as brothers or we will perish together as fools
Love is the golden rule.”
It’s getting to be a daily thing, turn on the news and you hear of all the shootings and stabbings that happened that night. People just can’t get along anymore. Some of the excuses given are so petty. He had shoes I wanted. They looked at me wrong. The one I heard awhile back was the worst. He just wanted to know what it felt like to kill someone.
It’s sad that you can’t let your kids run free anymore. When I was growing up, I got on my bike in the morning and knew I had to be home by dark. My mom never knew for sure where I was. Times were different. Now days you can’t let your kids play outside alone. Someone may drive by and grab them before you could do anything.
We need to come together and start getting along with each other again. There are some really nice people out there, but people categorize others by what color your skin is or what your religion is or whatever. We need to move on, look past our differences and become one nation under God again.
Do you think God is happy we are so divided? I don’t. He wants us united, he doesn’t want us fighting each other. We have a greater foe to fight. We have satan. He is the cause of all the trouble. So take a stand today and push back. Let’s regain the ground we lost and be friends instead of enemies. Let love and peace reign in our hearts.
Have a blessed day.
