“The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. ” (John 10:10 ESV)
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12 ESV)
I had a dream the other night. I walked into my kitchen and all my small appliances were gone. Someone had come in and taken them. I had no idea who or when, just that they were gone. Things I had saved for were stolen.
Isn’t that what the devil does? He comes like a thief in the night and steals from us. He steals our happiness, our joy, our peace. He even steals our finances. He takes away our jobs so we can’t pay our bills.
But we don’t have to let him get by with it. We can take a stand against him. We can fight back. We have weapons. Stand on the word of God. Quote Bible scriptures at him. He doesn’t like that.
This was meme on Facebook. “When you carry the Bible, satan gets a headache. When you open it, he collapses. When he sees you reading it, he faints. When he sees you are living it, he flees.” I say we all make him faint. Let’s read our Bibles. At least pick it up daily and give him a headache. After picking it up, you might as well go ahead and read a chapter or two. I mean, it’s already in your hand. Open it up and read. Before long it will become a habit to pick it up and start reading it. Then you may just start living it.
My goal is that as soon as my feet hit the floor in the morning, the devil says, “Oh no. She’s up!” I think that is a good goal to have.
If we are living our lives for God, how can that be bad? Just think of the perks. Eternity in heaven. No wars, taxes, illnesses or hate.
Well everyone, have a great day. I am off to read my Bible and make the devil flee.
God bless you all.
