“And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” (Ezekial 36:26 ESV)
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” (2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV)
I have discovered that I need a new heart. No, not heart surgery in the way you may think. I need Holy Ghost surgery. You see, I have developed a heart of stone towards a certain person. I know it’s hard to believe, but yes, it happened to me.
You see, when someone gets on your last nerve, lies to you or whatever, it can cause hard feelings. That’s when your heart starts to harden. But it can be reversed fairly easily. Pray about it. Ask God to forgive you.
I can do that but not sure I can do the next part. Forgive those who you think wronged you. “But God, you saw what he did. Do I really have to forgive him?” Or her, as the case may be. Want to know what God told me? “Yes. I saw. But you need to forgive him because I put him there for a reason. Now get busy.”
So I guess I will try to play nice and talk to him. It goes against my better judgment but if God put him here for a reason, I guess I better get busy. God puts people in our paths for a reason. No matter if they are trouble makers or just an irritating person. They need what we have. God!
God is the answer. He is with us in good times and bad times. He watches over us. He sends people to us to get them saved. He sends them to us to tell them about Him. Maybe no one has ever told them about God. Tell them. At least plant the seed.
Someone else may harvest it, but you will reap the rewards in heaven for planting it. So go out and find people and tell them about God and pray with them. Let them know how great our God is. You may be just the person they were searching for.
