“The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.” (Lamentations 3:25 ESV)
“But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.” (Micah 7:7 ESV)
This is from the movie Fireproof. It’s called, “While I’m Waiting” and is sung by John Wallee:
“I’m waiting
I’m waiting on You Lord and I am hopeful
I’m waiting on You Lord, though it is painful
But patiently I will wait
And I will move ahead, bold and confident
Taking every step in obedience
While I’m waiting I will serve You
While I’m waiting I will worship
While I’m waiting I will not faint
I’ll be running the race
Even while I wait.”
I have seen this movie several times. I watched it again yesterday. I mean I REALLY watched it. It made me question my walk with God. Is it what it should be? Do I make God happy? Does He look at me and think “That’s my daughter. I am so proud of her.”
I don’t know right now. I could, should be doing more. We all probably could and should be. There are so many reasons why not to do more for God. But then again, there is no good reason for not doing God’s work.
But for me, I will keep running this race, doing all I can to serve God. I don’t want God to be ashamed of me. I want to walk into heaven and hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” So I want to encourage you all to take a look at your walk with God. Is it how it should or could be? If not, maybe it’s time to do something about it.
