God Is Rebuilding Me

“You yourself like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 2:5. ESV)

“By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established.” (Proverbs 24:3 ESV)

The following is from the song Rebuilder sung by Carollton:

“Rebuilder My walls were crumblin’
Restorer You brought the light into the room
And filled my lungs so I could learn to breathe again
My Shelter My warmth in the coldest night
My Helper You held me up ’til I could stand
On the promise that You are Rebuildin’ me.”

I have had times in my life where I felt like my walls were crumbling and everything was dark. But once I committed my life to God, he started to rebuild my walls. He illuminated the dark places. He brought life back into places I thought would never live again.

When Mom went home it was very hard for me to let her go. But I rejoiced that she was finally home. She was where she had wanted to be for years. She is in heaven with my dad. God was with me throughout that time. He was holding me up, reinforcing my walls.

Walls can be good and bad. Walls keep things in that maybe shouldn’t be kept in. But they can also keep things out that should be kept out. We all need to take a long hard look at ourselves, at our walls. Are those walls strong? Can they withstand when the enemy comes to attack?

Or do you need to let God do some reinforcing and rebuilding? I think we could all stand a rebuilding by God. So I encourage you today to look at your lives. Do you need some rebuilding? If so, then let God rebuild them. He is a master builder.
