Chaos

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” (John 14:27 ESV)

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” (Isaiah 26:3 ESV)

There’s a song called Symphony. The chorus goes like this.

“And even in the madness, there is peace
Drowning out the voices all around me
Through all of this chaos
You were writing a symphony, a symphony.”

Is God writing a symphony about your life? What will it be like? Will be peaceful and happy or filled with chaos and noise?

If you had asked me 15 years ago, mine would have been filled with chaos and stress. But now, oh wow. God has worked hard on me. If God can take someone like me, who has a background of stress and anxiety, and turn me into the person I am today, think what he can do with you.

God wants our lives to be peaceful. That isn’t how it always turns out though. Something comes along to throw a wrench in the plans. Then your emotions get derailed and you lose your temper. You’re sorry afterward but the damage is done. Do you know the devil loves chaos? The more chaotic the better.

So guard you mind and emotions. Don’t let stray thoughts lead you astray. Keep focused on God. Block out the voices around you, don’t listen to the lies of the devil. He knows his time is getting really short. He wants to distract us from God. So stay focused on the symphony God is writing about you and keep the chaos out of your life.
