Peace, Be Still

"And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, 'Peace! Be still!' And the wind ceased and there was a great calm." (Mark 4:39 ESV)

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." (Isaiah 26:3-4 ESV)

This is the chorus to the song Peace Be Still sung by Lauren Daigle:

"Peace be still
Say the word and I will
Set my feet upon the sea
Till I'm dancing in the deep
Peace be still
You are here so it is well
Even when my eyes can't see
I will trust the voice that speaks."

I think we have all heard the Bible story where Jesus spoke to the winds and it stopped.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could do that? Why can't we? I speak to storms a lot. I speak over my car and home every time a severe storm is headed my way.

I really like this song. "Peace be still, say the word and I will." That's all it takes. One word from God and peace descends on you.

"You are here so it is well,
Even when I can't see,
I will trust the voice that speaks."

God makes everything ok. He is here. He is right beside you.

Having a bad day? He is carrying you. He loves you.

But even if I can't see God, I know his voice and listen closely so I don't miss him. God has brought me so far this past year but he isn't done with me yet. He isn't done with you yet either. As long as we are breathing, God isn't done with us.

So today my friends, I speak peace over each of you. Peace, be still.
