I Am a Warrior

“But the Lord is with me as a dread warrior; therefore my persecutors will stumble; they will not overcome me. They will be greatly shamed, for they will not succeed. Their eternal dishonor will never be forgotten.” (Jeremiah 20:11 ESV)

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:11 ESV)

Google defines warrior as “a brave or experienced soldier or fighter.”

I would not consider myself a brave or experienced soldier or fighter. In fact I hate confrontation. But when it comes to my walk with God, I am fearless. Well, at least for the most part.

It wasn’t so long ago that I would crumple under pressure. Whenever I was confronted, whether I was right or wrong, I caved. I would not even stand up for myself.

But not anymore. I have learned I have to fend for myself. I can’t always count on someone else to fight my battles. I have learned that in my walk with God too. I may not always feel equipped to do battle, but with God on my side, I’m invisible. So today I put on the whole armor of God and stand ready to take on what the devil throws at me.

How about you? Are you equipped to stand against the things being thrown at you? If not, you need to get ready. The attacks aren’t going to stop just because you are cowering in a corner trying to hide. Put on your armor and come out swinging. Join us in the fight.

So today I say, “Here I am God! Send me!”

Who is ready to join me in the fight?
