Lighthouses

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16 ESV)

“For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” (Ephesians 5:8 ESV)

Have you ever seen a lighthouse? Do you know what they are used for?

Lighthouses are used to guide ships on the ocean the way to go. They would be the light in the darkness so ships would not wreck on the rocks by the shore.  Google defines a lighthouse as “a tower or other structure containing a beacon light to warn or guide ships at sea.”

Did you know you can also be a lighthouse? You can be a beacon of light to someone who is walking in darkness.  Talk to people, tell them about God. You may just be the person that shows them the way to salvation.

God wants us to be a light shining in the dark for others. Let your light shine and show the way for others.  So don’t hide your light, let it shine bright to guide the lost and searching to a place of safety and love.  Be the lighthouse for others.
