You Will Be Fine

Back in 1994 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was devastated. I didn’t know how I got it, as it isn’t something my family genes have. I was a bodybuilder. I had muscles upon muscles. Needless to say, I went to the hospital and met with a surgeon on 2/21/94, and then on 2/28/94 I underwent a lumpectomy to remove the lump in my right breast.

Before I was wheeled into the operating room, a woman with long strawberry blonde hair, came to me and said God thought I was very funny. ( At the time, I was cursing God for having cancer) I said to her, ‘”If I die on the operating table, he is going to regret he ever took me.”

She said, ” You will be fine. I will be with you in the OR and in the recovery room.”

And she was. She was with me all the way. She was in and out of my room like she floated on a cloud.

I said to her, ” You are my guardian angel, aren’t you?”

She just smiled. And by the way, she was the one who took the specimen down to the lab and they said it was positive. I had to go through a year of chemo and radiation at the same time, yet this woman said I would be okay. I told her I was afraid I’d lose my hair, and that I would get very sick. She said, don’t be afraid, i will always be with you.

When she left, she said I wouldn’t see her anymore. I followed her with the IV pole attached to my arm, and when I passed the nurse’s station, I asked them, ” who was that woman?” They just looked at me like I was crazy. When the surgeon came in, I asked him, who was that nurse that took the specimen down to the lab? He replied, ” there was no woman in the operating room, there was all men, me, another surgeon, the anesthesiologist, and a male nurse. We were wondering how the specimen got down to the lab.”

So, when you think your alone, you aren’t. You always have your guardian angel there with you.

We are all survivors and loved by our Heavenly Father very much. That is why God made us, because he was lonely and because he loves us dearly. We are his children. Does a father hurt his children? No, a father loves his children. And God loves us all.
