Easter

by | Apr 23, 2020 | Easter, Poem

To some, Easter is a new beginning……a time for reflection;
For the asking it can be a new beginning all because of a special crucifixion.

Some think about new clothes, pretty hats and colored eggs to be found;
The Lamb of God gave up His life…..His precious blood spilled on the ground.

An egg represents life, one yet to be born;
But Christ offers us eternal life with His body that was bloodied and torn.

Children’s faces all aglow, thinking of all the sugary treats;
I think of my beloved Lord, with nails driven into His’ hands and feet.

Spring is moving in, time for nature to be reborn and come to life;
We, too, can be reborn…..if we just accept Gods’ precious gift, His Son, Jesus Christ.

It’s a time for old things to be put aside,  as all things new come to light;
But nothing can outshine Jesus, for He is the way, the truth, and the life.
