People — even the experts — make mistakes, and some of these mistakes are beauties.
Here’s one: how would you like to have been the president of the Michigan bank who advised Henry Ford’s lawyer not to invest in the new motor company? Yes, it happened. The banker said, “The horse is here to stay, but the automobile is only a novelty.”
Here’s another expert opinion that was wrong. Did you know the actor Gary Cooper turned down the role of Rhett Butler in Gone with the Wind? He said that movie “is going to be the biggest flop in Hollywood history.”
It’s pretty obvious. You can’t believe the experts all the time. Even the smartest among them make mistakes.
So, if you happen to be one of those folks who is looking for somebody you can trust, I encourage you to take a look at the Triune God. When human experts let you down, He is the One who will always know what He’s talking about.
His opinion can always be trusted.
Are you looking for happiness? He has the answer. Are you sad? He has the formula for helping you up. In this world of confusing expert opinions, it’s good to find Somebody who has got it right every time.
THE PRAYER: Heavenly Father, help us to bring our problems and questions to You for the answers we really need. Most of all I give thanks for Jesus who is the ultimate answer to sin, death and devil. Because of the answers Jesus has supplied in His life, death and resurrection, I have been given what I need for eternal life. Thank You for being the One we can always look to for help. In the Savior’s Name. Amen.
