Once Upon a Time

Let me tell you a story that some people think is a fairy tale;
It’s a story about a wondrous man, a cross and three nails.
Oh but what a story it is, one that I am glad I didn’t miss;
Sit back and listen carefully, and it goes exactly like this.

Born far from His mother’s people, into this world He came;
Told from the very beginning, Joseph and Mary already knew His name.
Jesus was sent by God The Father, who planned it from the dawning of time;
To be a bridge over troubled waters, leading back to The Holy Vine.

Christ taught His Father’s word as He traveled all around;
Healing the sick and raising the dead, where ever they were found.
There were those who didn’t believe a single word that He said;
The ones who plotted against Him, until they saw Him dead.

His followers knew He didn’t die, that God called Him home;
Where He sits in judgement upon His Father’s throne.
Christians, to this day, are still spreading the holy gospel;
Taking God’s word to out of the way places, whenever possible.

The decision is now yours to make, is it truth or a fairy tale;
For there are two endings to this story…one is Heaven and one is Hell.
We use to put God first in everything, and never thought it odd;
But once upon a time… the world believed in God.
