Training the Tiger

For Tiger Woods his father Earl was more than a father. He was his coach too, fine tuning his game all the time. Hence it is not surprising that in most of the functions arranged to felicitate him, the Tiger waxes eloquent about his father, the coach. Like in golf, an athlete’s success is very much dependent on the training he receives from his coaches.

What about the spiritual “Tigers” who “roared” in the first century AD? They were coached meticulously by a Divine coach. No wonder it is said of them.

“When the Council saw the boldness of Peter and John, and could see that that they were obviously uneducated non-professionals, they were amazed and realized WHAT BEING WITH JESUS HAD DONE FOR THEM”- Acts 4:13 (TLB).

Can the same be said of us? Mark my words; if you are under His Divine tutelage, “you will never be lost in the ‘woods’?” NEVER!

Prayer: Father, I know being under Your coaching is tough, even then I submit myself to Thee. When Your work is done on me, let people see more and more of Thy Son in me. In Jesus’ Name.
