A Prayer Away

by | May 14, 2013 | Abiding, Poem, Prayer, Presence, Salvation

Lord, I had a dream of You, last night.
You held me in Your arms, so tight.
You said that You would always be
Just a prayer away from me.

You said that life would ebb and flow,
Like the changing tides that come and go;
But, if I’d stay grounded in Your word,
My prayers forever would be heard.

Now, when I’m lonely, feeling blue, Lord,
You’re the one that I run to.
I know You’ll be with me, night and day,
Because You’re just a prayer away.

I depend on You, when things go wrong,
Because I’m weak; but, I know You’re strong.
Lord, You’re my rock, my strength, indeed;
Just a prayer away when I’m in need.

I have no greater friend, it’s true,
Than the precious friend I’ve found in You.
You gave Your life up, just for me,
The day You shed Your blood on Calvary’s tree.
