Make a Joyful Noise Unto the Lord

by | May 19, 2008 | Praise, Worship

“Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth! Sing out the honor of His name; Make His praise glorious. Say to God, ‘How awesome are Your works! Through the greatness of Your power Your enemies shall submit themselves to You.'” (Psalms 66:1-3 NKJV)

No 1000 voice chorus in the finest venue can compete with the bird choir I was treated to each morning. From the raucous “Squawk, Squawk, Squawk” of the Pionus to the shrill whistles of the cockatiels to the peeps, chirps, and “Pretty Birds” from the Linnies my house was vibrating with the sound of happiness. Sometimes the ‘music’ was soft and sometimes loud and boisterous but always it showed the happiness of these little balls of feathers.

True they had to be in somewhat smaller surroundings than they were used to but they were still happy and singing.

Humans could learn a lesson from these colorful songsters. The day outside might be gloomy, we may not be feeling well, someone may have insulted or hurt us in some way but we, like the birds, should praise God.
