Unseen Reality

“I only believe what I can see!” declares the skeptic.

But have you ever encountered an unseen force capable of lifting you off your feet?

“Nonsense!” denies the skeptic.

I sure have and so have you!

“When?”

Unseen but real, anyone can find it tingling their faces and blowing their hair out around their heads (to the horror of any woman!). Through the centuries many have harnessed this force. First to grind meal and propel ships, then to pump water, and now to provide much needed electricity.

We sure felt its effect when we reached North Cape, P.E.I. Located on the most northwesterly tip of Prince Edward Island and known to be one of the windiest areas in Canada, it provides an ideal location for 300-degrees of exposure to the wind that sweeps through the Gulf of St. Lawrence. No wonder that AWTS Inc., established its wind test site for the province here, resulting in the production of 5 % of PEI’s total electricity! Not bad for an unseen force!

A lot has been discovered concerning this unseen reality. For example, did you know that there is more energy in dry, cold air than in humid, warm air? Did you realize that wind at higher elevations is greater in force than it is on the surface of the earth? And had you heard that wind energy is so powerful that it could technically provide all of Canada’s electricity needs with zero emissions and without eating up precious non-renewable resources?

As we pushed our way around the North Cape, holding onto our hats with our hands, we discovered that the wind also pushes ashore sea moss that has been dragged up from the bottom of the ocean by ships. Once harvested, that sea moss is dried and turned into carrageen, which is used as a thickener in toothpaste, ice-cream and many other common items.

What if the people of North Cape had ignored this unseen reality? Its power would have gone completely unknown.

Unbelievers and believers alike often neglect another unseen yet very real entity; however if you take the time to get to know this invisible friend, you will discover a wealth of untapped energy available to anyone who believes: “The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” (John 3:8 NIV); “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” (John 14:12 NIV); and “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you.” (Acts 1:8 NIV)

God’s Holy Spirit is your friend. He can guide you out of all your messes. He can make the impossible possible in your life. I have experienced Him personally, and now I wouldn’t know how to live without Him.

“I do more than thank. I ask – ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory – to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for Christians, oh, the utter extravagance of his work in us who trust him – endless energy, boundless strength!” (Eph 1:17-19 The Message)

You can experience Him as well in your life. Get to know Him and enjoy His power. Why wait?
